Yes. It’s true. Hop Jam 2017 has been cancelled.

For reasons we cannot fully explain, our ticket sales are too low to warrant holding our event.

“Wait… whaaaaa? How did this happen?” you ask.

Excellent question. We expected lower sales than last year for multiple reasons. We knew that there would be some push back after last year’s long lines and we’ve also been wary of what looks like a broader trending “fatigue” in the craft beer scene, as ticket sales were noticeably slower for several other beer fests that our organizers are associated with. So we made a lot of adjustments to this year’s Hop Jam, anticipating these things. But none of our projections hinted anything near the situation we are in. We’re not quite sure what else has contributed to our slow sales, otherwise we would have make adjustments accordingly. But regardless of why, as things stand, we’ve been forced to make the hard decision to shut ‘er down.

To say we are really bummed is a gross understatement. The amount of work done for Hop Jam by our staff and volunteers over the years is immense, not to mention the amount of fun we’ve had and the relationships we’ve developed with our fans, brewers, bands and more! To have it come to a screeching halt like this is just gut wrenching.

We would like to thank all our supporters from the bottom of our hearts (and the bottom of our glasses,) and we hope that we will be able to Jam with you at future events!

We are already in the process of issuing full refunds and they should go through in the next 10-14 days. For hotel cancellations, please contact your respective accommodations directly.

We will be busy buttoning up all things Hop Jam related, but please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments.

Thanks again for your support! We miss you already and wish you excellent Beer-Karma for many years to come!
